How To Resigning Your Role Truly Like A Boss!!!

How to do that?

  1. Do it in person by yourself
  2. Make your letter word perfect
  3. Considering counter offers

Collect your thoughts (asking for a night to sleep on it if you can) and make a considered decision, taking into account big questions such as:

  • What made me want to leave in the first place?
  • What will change if I stay?
  • How will returning after resignation affect my work relationships?
  • Would my desire to move on put me first in line for cuts?

Resignation do’s and don’ts

If you decide that moving on is indeed the best option, stick to some cardinal rules of professional courtesy.

Do

  • Work your notice if required
  • Perform a helpful handover.
  • Tidy up. From your desk to your hard drive, leave things neat and tidy.
  • Ask for an exit interview.
  • Say goodbye.
  • Keep networking. Follow up your farewell with an invitation to keep in touch via social media sites such as Fb.

Don't

     x  Resign when angry.
     x  Divulge everything.
x  Badmouth the boss. Or colleagues. Or the company.
x  Forget others’ feelings.       x  Overdo it on your leaving do.

What have been your best and worst resignation experiences? And what did you learn from them?  Let us know if we left out any top tips...
